One quarter
One quarter, or One fourth is the irreducible fraction resulting from dividing one by four (ÂĽ) or dividing one half by 4; multiplication by one fourth is equivalent to division by four. The english word "Quarter" derives from the French meaning "4" (quatre) or "ÂĽ" (quatrier).
