Obelia
Hydroid describes the polyp stage of a Hydrozoan lifecycle. Hydrozoans are a Cnidarian class that consists of mainly marine and some freshwater species, which may be solitary or colonial, and may have either a polyp or medusa lifecycle stage (and often both).
