Operation Enduring Freedom - Pankisi Gorge
The Pankisi Gorge is a region of the former Soviet republic of Georgia, near the border with the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria. Many of the residents of the Gorge region are ethnically similar to the residents of Chechnya.
