Okeechobee Waterway

The Okeechobee Waterway is a man-made waterway stretching from Fort Myers on the west coast to Stuart on the east coast of Florida. It was built/finished in 1937 to accommodate the rich and elite of the time by allowing them to cross the state from their homes on the east coast to their coconut labor camps on the west coast, in relative ease and in a timely manner.
