Olga Knipper



Olga Leonardovna Knipper (; in Glazov — 22 March 1959 in Moscow) was among the 39 original members of the Moscow Art Theatre, when the latter was formed by Konstantin Stanislavsky in 1898. She was the first to play Arkadina in The Seagull (1898), Masha in The Three Sisters, and Madame Ranevskaya in The Cherry Orchard (1904).
