2006 Bahrain ferry disaster
The 2006 Bahrain ferry disaster occurred on March 30, 2006, when a motorised Arabic dhow or passenger ferry, the al-Dana, sailing off of Manama, Bahrain, capsized in the Persian Gulf. As of 0100 UTC on March 31, 67 out of the 150 people onboard had been rescued, and 48 have been confirmed dead.
