1st Infantry Division (United States)
The 1st Infantry Division (Mechanized) of the United States Army —nicknamed “The Big Red One” after its shoulder patch—is the oldest continuously serving division in the United States Army. The division's motto is “Duty First,” with unofficial, but frequently used additional motto of “No Mission Too Difficult, No Sacrifice Too Great,” and often a combination of “No Mission Too Difficult, No Sacrifice Too Great—Duty First.
