Łódź Voivodeship

Łódź Voivodeship (1) (Polish: województwo łódzkie) is an administrative region of central Poland created January 1, 1999, out of the former Łódź which existed from 1975 until 1999, Sieradz, Piotrków Trybunalski, Skierniewice and part of Płock voivodeships, pursuant to the Local Government Reorganization Act of 1998. The voivodeship's name recalls that of the region's largest city, Łódź.
