2000s
The 2000s decade refers to the years from 2000 to 2009. However, informally, just as some would say that the socio-cultural decade of the 1930s began with the 1929 stock market crash, and that the 1950s seems to have lasted until the end of the Eisenhower presidency in 1961, no consensus can be expected to yet exist on what will someday be meant by "the 2000s".
