40 mm grenade
The 40 mm grenade is a military grenade caliber for grenade launchers. There are two main types in American service: the 40 x 46 mm, which is a low-velocity round used in infantry grenade launchers; and the more powerful 40 x 53 mm, used in heavier, mounted and crew-served weapons.
