4-Dimethylaminopyridine (DMAP) is a nucleophilic catalyst which catalyzes a variety of reactions. For example esterifications with anhydrides, Baylis-Hillman reaction, silylation, tritylation, Steglich-Rearrangement, Staudinger synthesis of Ăź-lactams and many more.
