1992 NCAA Division I-A football season



The 1992 NCAA Division I-A football season was the first year of the Bowl Coalition, and ended with Alabama's first national championship in thriteen years, their first since the departure of Bear Bryant. One of Bryant's players, Gene Stallings, was the head coach, and he used a style similar to Bryant's, a smashmouth running game combined with a tough defense.
