Papplewick Pumping Station

Papplewick Pumping Station, based in the picturesque Nottinghamshire village of Papplewick, was built between 1881 and 1885 as a means of pumping water from the Bunter sandstone to provide drinking water to the City of Nottingham. The building has outstanding cast iron fittings and stained glass which are much admired.
