Paracel Islands
The Paracel Islands (; ) are a group of small islands and reefs in the South China Sea and part of the South China Sea Islands, about one-third of the way from Vietnam to the Philippines. The Paracel Islands have been controlled and administered by the People's Republic of China since 1974, but other neighboring countries also lay claim to the islands.
