Padan plain
The Padan Plain (Pianura Padana in Italian) is a major geographical feature of Italy. Stretching some 600 km in an east-west direction, considering also its Venetic extension not actually related to the Po river, it runs from the Western Alps to the Adriatic Sea, covering a large part of the Po basin and the flatlands of Veneto and Friuli, often considered apart since they do not drain into the Po, but effectively creating an unbroken path of plain terrain.
