Powick Powick is a Worcestershire village two miles south of Worcester and four miles north of Great Malvern, close to the River Teme. The bridge across the Teme at Powick was the scene of a skirmish between Royalist and Roundhead soldiers in the English civil war.

Powys Fadog Powys Fadog or Powys Maelor was the northern portion of the former princely realm of Powys which split in two following the death of Madog ap Maredudd of Powys in 1160. The realm was divided under Welsh Law, with Madog's nephew Owain Cyfeiliog inheriting the south (see Powys Wenwynwyn) and his son Gruffydd Maelor I who inherited the north.

The realm had been split, with the northern portion (Maelor) going to Gruffydd Maelor I and becoming known, eventually, as Powys Fadog and the southern portion (Cyfeiliog) going to Owain Cyfeiliog and becoming known, eventually, as Powys Wenwynwyn after Prince Gwenwynwyn ab Owain, its second ruler.
