Paul Pierre LĂ©vy (September 15, 1886 â€“ December 15, 1971) was a French mathematician who was active especially in probability theory, introduced martingales and LĂ©vy flights. LĂ©vy processes, LĂ©vy measures, LĂ©vy's constant, the LĂ©vy distribution, the LĂ©vy skew alpha-stable distribution, the LĂ©vy area and the fractal LĂ©vy C curve.
