Parktown, Gauteng

Parktown is a suburb of Johannesburg, South Africa. It was begun in 1892, when Florence Phillips rode north from the dusty mining town of early Johannesburg and found a ridge (on which the present suburbs of Westcliff, Parktown and Linksfield are built) with a view over forests to the Magaliesberg mountains.
