Quirinius
Publius Sulpicius Quirinius (rendered in Greek ΚυĎήνιος Kyrenios, sometimes Grecized as Cyrenius, c. 51 BC - AD 21) was a Roman aristocrat: his governorship of Syria is one of the chronological anchors for the birth of Jesus.
