Quarter Pounder
A Quarter Pounder is a McDonald's hamburger made from approximately 1/4 pound (4 ounces or 114 grams) of beef, weighed before cooking. It was introduced in Fremont, California in 1971-1972 and became part of the national menu in 1973.
