Flowing from China through Vietnam to the South China Sea, the Red River (Vietnamese Sông Hồng or Hồng Hà; ; Hani: Lalsa baqma) is also known as the Yuan River (Chinese: 元江; pinyin: Yuánjiāng; literally, "Primary River").
