Regulatory State

The term "regulatory state" is intended to describe the current condition in the United States, in which some or all levels of government seek and have the power to regulate all aspects of life, whether specifically authorized to do so by their fundamental documents (the United States or individual State Constitutions and/or local charters). See police power.
