Redwood Empire
The Redwood Empire (also Redwood Coast or North Coast) is a region of California that stretches from San Francisco and the Golden Gate Bridge to the Oregon coast. It is composed of eight counties, all but one of which front the Pacific Ocean or San Francisco Bay, and is named from the Coast Redwood (a different species to the Giant Sequoia) which only grows within 80 km (50 miles) of the coast and can be up to 112 m tall.
