Regions of France
France is divided into 26 regions (), of which 21 are in the continental part of metropolitan France, one is Corsica (although strictly speaking that is in fact a "territorial collectivity", not a region, but is referred to as a region in common speech), and four lie overseas. Regions in mainland France are further subdivided into between about 1 and 8 departments each.
