Registered Accessibility Specialist
A Registered Accessibility Specialist (RAS) is a person licensed with a state of the United States, to determine if a part of the built environment (building, park, sidewalk, parking lot), is compliant with the federal Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) as well as local state laws. An RAS is capable of doing several things, including: reviewing of construction documents to determine accessible design, inspection of finished buildings to verify accessible construction, as well as consultation.
