Regional hegemony
Regional hegemony refers to the power or influence which a nation exercises over more than one neighboring country. Contemporary examples - each of which is arguable and/or politically sensitive - include the People's Republic of China and the rest of southeast Asia; Russia and its former eastern European republics; and the United States of America and the rest of North America.
