Tentative Channel Designation

Tentative Channel Designation is a term used by the Federal Communications Commission to refer to TV channel assignments that represent the channels that TV stations must use after the analog cutoff, completing the transition to Digital television in the United States. These channels are determined through a multiple round procedure involving elections by the TV stations themselves, usually either their original analog channel, or their transitional digital channel.
