Terrorism in Malaysia
Terrorism in Malaysia shifted from militancy promoting Communism to militancy promoting Islamism. In discussing terrorism in 2002, former Prime Minister Mahathir bin Mohamad attributed Islamist terrorism to members of the Pan Malaysian Islamic Front, trained by the Taliban and Al Qaeda.
