Texas and Northern Railway
The Texas and Northern Railway is an eight-mile (13 km) railroad connecting Lone Star, Texas, to the former Louisiana and Arkansas Railway, now a line of the Kansas City Southern Railway, between Daingerfield and Hughes Springs. When it started operations in 1948 to serve the Lone Star Steel Company (), of which it is a wholly owned subsidiary, the revenue cutoff for a Class I railroad was $1 million, and the Texas and Northern made just more than that per year.
