United Nations Operation in Burundi
The United Nations Operation in Burundi (ONUB) was established by United Nations Security Council Resolution 1545 on 21 May 2004 to ensure the continuation of the Arusha Peace and Reconciliation Agreement signed on 28 August 2000. Initially, ONUB consisted of 5,650 military personnel, 120 civilian police, and support personnel in the form of 200 military observers and 125 military staff officers.
