United States Declaration of Independence
The Declaration of Independence was an act of the Second Continental Congress, adopted on July 4, 1776, which declared that the Thirteen United Colonies were independent of Great Britain. It proclaimed that they formed a new nation called the "United States of America" that would "assume, among the powers of the earth, a separate and equal station.
