UK Joint Intelligence Committee
The Joint Intelligence Committee (JIC) was founded in 1936 as a sub-committee of the Committee of Imperial Defence. The Committee of Imperial Defence was effectively an advisory peacetime defence planning system in which formal authority remained with departmental ministers.
