Unergative verb
An unergative verb is a special kind of intransitive verb, which is distinguished semantically by the fact that the subject is perceived as actively initiating or actively responsible for the action expressed by the verb. For example, in English, run, talk and resign are unergative verbs (while fall and die are not).
