Ur Kasdim
Ur Kaśdim or Ur of the Chaldees is the town in the Hebrew Bible and related literature where Abraham was said to have been born. The traditional site of Abraham's birth is in the vicinity of Edessa although 19th century scholars identified Ur Kaśdim with the Sumerian city of Ur, a view that is still widely accepted today.
