Uniaxial perfectly matched layer
Uniaxial perfectly matched layer (U-PML) a numerical method designed to work as an absorbing boundary condition when solving problems of wave propagation, such as the wave equation. It is usually employed to truncate open problems (that is, problems defined on an unbounded region) simulated by the FDTD and FEM methods.
