Vickers hardness test

The Vickers hardness test was developed in the early 1920s as an alternative method to measure the hardness of materials. Reasons why it is easier to use than other hardness tests is that calculations are not dependent on the size of the indenter, and also that the indenter can be used for all materials irrespective of hardness.
