Vito Arcilesi



Vito Arcilesi (1894-1979) was a mafioso, bootlegger, and rumrunner who came from Alcamo, on the island of Sicily to the United States by way of Ellis Island in 1910. Vito married Francesca Amato and they settled in Detroit, Michigan with their four children Guiseppe, Vincenzo, Gaspare and Stefano, where they lived together until her death following the birth of their fifth son; Vito's last son was eventually adopted by his brother.
