Walter Henry Rothwell

Walter Henry Rothwell (born 22 September 1872 in London, died 12 March 1927 in Santa Monica) was an English conductor who was assistant to Gustav Mahler in Hamburg and subsequently spent much of his career in the USA. He was the first conductor of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, chosen after the orchestra was unable to persuade Sergei Rachmaninoff to move to the West Coast.
