Watergate Babies
The term Watergate Babies refers to the Democrats elected to the United States Congress in 1974 following president Richard Nixon's resignation over the Watergate scandal. Disollusioned with the Republican party, voters across the country voted overwhelmingly for Democratic candidates, even in districts that had been Republican strongholds for decades.
