Watt's law

Watt's law is a law that defines the watt as the amount of power consumed by a device which, when supplied with 1 volt of difference across its terminals, will use 1 ampere of current. The law was named after James Watt, a Scottish inventor and engineer who made extensive improvements to the steam engine.
