Waiau River, Hawke's Bay

Waiau River is the name of three rivers in New Zealand. The northernmost of these, and the only one in the North Island, rises in the Kaingaroa Forest to the west of Lake Waikaremoana, and flows southeast for 60 kilometres before joining the Wairoa River.
