Yehoshua Leib Diskin



Rabbi Yehoshua Leib Diskin (1818-1898), also known as the Maharil Diskin, was an important Talmudist and Biblical Commentator, best known for being the Rabbi of Brisk. He served as a Rabbi in Lomza, Mezritch, Kovno, Shklov, Brisk and finally Jerusalem after moving there in 1876, where he became the spiritual leader of teh Perushim community.
