YĂĽ Cheng-hsieh
YĂĽ Cheng-hsieh (1775-1804) was a Chinese feminist and noted critic of foot binding, widow chastity, and the double standard. A skilled philologist, YĂĽ researched the history of language, which influenced his views on women.
