ZMap

The ZMap is a data structure used in Computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) programs to generate cutter locations (CL) data, to facilitate the creation of a toolpath. In a ZMap, a 3D geometry is converted to a height map where each point records only the highest z value of the 3D geometry.
