Zona limitans intrathalamica
The zona limitans intrathalamica (ZLI) is a transverse boundary located between the prethalamus (previously also known as ventral thalamus) and the functional distinct thalamus (dorsal thalamus ). Besides its morphological characteristics, it bears the hallmarks of a signalling centre.
