ZĂ© Povinho

ZĂ© Povinho is a Portuguese character created in 1875 by Portuguese artist Rafael Bordalo Pinheiro, and became the unofficial symbol of the Portuguese working class, a national personification of Portugal. He is a popular kind man who lives a simple life and mocks the powerful, unlike Uncle Sam from the USA.
